Clea Pineau is a PhD student in Sociology at Pantheon-Sorbonne University. Her thesis explores the social relations on the neighborhood level in Turkey in the context of rapid urbanization with a particular focus on the city of Mersin. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and History from Aix-Marseille University and a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Sciences Po Grenoble. She also studied at Bilgi University in Istanbul and wrote her Master’s thesis on the public-private relations in the Turkish electricity distribution sector and the consequences of privatization on consumption practices.
