Emmanuelle Veuillet is a PhD researcher at Panthéon-Sorbonne University. She studies the local reactions to the State’s identity politics in the Equatorias in the context of the current South Sudanese civil war. She has carried out fieldworks in northern Uganda and Kenya. Previously, she conducted research in Iraqi Kurdistan in 2013 and 2014. Since 2012, she is also involved in popular education promotion and youth development projects in Sapone village in Burkina Faso. She holds a joint Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and Sciences Po Paris.
